The Beginning

The foundation of USS was a small silk-screening business operated by Joseph Ostering Senior and Joseph Ostering Junior in the household garage in 1980. With growth, USS moved into an industrial building and was joined by twin brother John Ostering and a small staff. USS was being built on strong work ethic, dedication, passion, and a continuous improvement culture. For long term success, the Osterings decided to expand services.

Expansion into Comprehensive Services & Industries

With an expertise in silk-screening, USS launched complementary finishing services to include chemical conversion coating, plating, painting, and powder coating. Naturally, USS expanded into fabrication, machining, and assembly into the ultimate one-stop manufacturing facility.  Just then, current USS customer accounts included commercial and medical industries, when USS began supporting the military and excelling with durable product offering, strong performance, and benefits derived from a full range of in-house services.

Currently with over 100 employees and a second generation of family joining the company, USS focuses on a sustainable and successful future, but never forgets its beginnings. Our growth is a result of strong principles, work ethic, and highly skilled personnel.  Today, USS has the comprehensive services, manufacturing capacity, and technical experience to be the ultimate partner in the production of commercial and military systems.

1980 Marks first year in business

1985 Branches out from silk-screening into finishing, painting, and powder coating

1998 Relocates into current Headquarters in Cedar Grove, NJ

2000 Expands into fabrication and machining

2010 Achieves ISO 9001:2008 Certification and ITAR Registration

        Expands into second facility in Totowa, NJ

2011 Diversifies into Engineering and Professional Support Services

2012 Establishes sister company Aerotech Processing Solutions
