Engineering Support
Mechanical Engineering
Accepting and converting most standard CAD file formats, while leveraging the latest 3D CAD/CAM software, the USS Engineering Department generates detailed solid models, machine programs, and fixturing to make your products quickly, accurately, and cost effectively. USS employs program nesting to maximize material usage and pass on cost savings to customers. Once we model your design, the use of a CAM system allows us to program direct to all CNCs, lasers, turrets, and machining centers. For customers who wish to work closely on design, we will openly share ideas to optimize performance of evolving or existing designs. Possessing decades of manufacturing expertise and industry experience, the USS engineering department brings the skills required to develop and manufacture your product precisely.

Reverse Engineering
For obsolete spares and defective parts, USS performs reverse engineering and re-engineering to increase reliability and availability of product. Once the analysis and re-engineering is complete, USS manufactures prototypes and/or production units to verify visual, dimensional, and functional aspects.
The following are various levels of Reverse Engineering/Re-engineering performed by USS:
- Drawing and Technical documentation review
- Lifecycle Analysis
- Reliability Prediction
- Document, Repair, and Recreate
- Prototype Development / Evaluation
- Prototype Testing
- Qualification Testing
- Design Optimization and Recommendations
